Located halfway between the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava and only 45 minutes from Barcelona, Centelles (Osona) awaits you. A natural environment with impressive views.
The via ferrata de les Baumes Corcades climbs to the top of the Puigsagordi hill along the most vertical rock strips, in the middle of a magnificent landscape that changes depending on the orientation of the path. During the ascent, you will enjoy the view of the whole plain of Vic, sheltered by the castle of Tona. To the north, you will see the Eastern Pyrenees, the Guilleries and Collsacabra. The Montseny massif is opposite the hill and the castle of Tagamanent. Finally, to the south, there are the cliffs of Bertí.
For all those who love adventure and heights, this via ferrata is well equipped and consists of several different sections, with long lateral flanks and numerous overhangs. Perfect if you have done a via ferrata before or if it is your first time, because the more difficult sections are optional.
The route starts after the Banyeres settlement house. You will have to follow a track to the left, heading south. Continue to the foot of the Quicarell where you will find the first facilities. This initial section, one of the most vertical, will take you to an esplanade that is a viewpoint where you can stop for a second and appreciate the views.
A few metres further on, you will find a sign indicating the Nepalese bridge (68 m), the longest of its kind in Europe. From here you can choose to go up a difficult route to the bridge or continue directly on the easy section, until you find the point where the two routes meet.
La Tosquera, the emblematic spot:
At this point you have the opportunity to choose the difficulty of the path. On the left is the easy path. And, for the more daring, on the right you will find the Tosquera spur, a stretch that requires a good level of fitness. From here you will come out onto the Riucerdà plain, reaching the most difficult section of the route, suitable only for the most daring.
